SUMMARY:Rousey Homeplace Hike- Public Hiking Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special hiking event open to all ages and levels of experience at the Rousey Homeplace\, www.rouseyhomeplace.com located at 4170 Butchertown Road\, Parksville\, KY 40464.\nRegistration for this hike is from 10AM to 10:30AM near the log cabin.\nThis family farm dating back to 1860 is in Casey County near the Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge.\nSeveral miles of trails are available\, some through wooded areas\, fields and along a winding creek filled with interesting rocks.  Trails range from easy to difficult depending on hiker preference. Hikers will gather and register at the log cabin located to the left at the top of the blacktop drive.  There’s a fire pit\, benches\, pavilion\, children’s play area and handicapped accessible rest rooms near the cabin.  An added point of interest is a small family cemetery near the cabin.\nHiking shoes and trekking poles are useful as some of the trails are steep and rocky.  Maps of the trails are available on site.
