SUMMARY:Sloan Fork Hike
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a very special hiking event open to all ages and levels of experience at the farm of Rod and Mary Wolford\, 2693 Sloan Fork Rd\, Windsor\, KY 42565. Registration for this hike is from 10AM to 10:30AM.\nThe farm is in Casey County near Green River Knob and surrounded by Amish and Mennonite communities.  Nearby businesses have locally made cheese\, and meat products as well as baked goods.\nSeveral miles of trails are available\, some through wooded areas\, fields and along streams and a small lake.  Trails range from easy to difficult depending on hiker preference. The vista from one of the upper fields is especially beautiful.  An added point of interest is a small aquaponics operation at the farm that produces vegetables year-round.  It includes maintaining a fish population to provide fertilize for the plants.\nHiking shoes and trekking poles are useful as some of the trails are steep and rocky.  Maps of the trails are available on site.
